Born in London to a Turkish mother and Greek father, Leyla Diamondi was raised at the intersection of rich cultural traditions and international perspectives. Her parents immigrated to the United States before settling in the UK, giving Leyla a uniquely global outlook from an early age. Growing up surrounded by different cultures, religions, and ways of thinking shaped her belief that, beneath our differences, people are connected by the same emotions, desires, and human experiences.

Music became Leyla’s first language of emotion. As a child, she struggled to express how she felt through words, but music unlocked an inner world of self-reflection, wisdom, and self-understanding. Listening to songs on the radio or the homemade CDs her father made for family road trips, she would drift into vivid daydreams, connecting melodies to emotions, creating mental movie scenes, and imagining vivid possibilities. When she discovered the piano, she spent hours creating melodies instinctively, learning to communicate through feeling, expressing herself through the many different arrangements of notes rather than conversation.

Today, Leyla creates music not only to share that same sense of magic with others, but also to honour her family’s legacy. Her grandmother, also named Leyla, was a singer whose dreams were limited by circumstance, finances, geography, and lack of support. Every milestone Leyla reaches now feels shared between generations, carrying forward the dream her grandmother never had the chance to fully realise.

Leyla’s talent was first recognised by her mother, who encouraged her to begin singing lessons at just three years old. Her musical foundation was rooted in classical training, eventually leading her to perform at the Royal Opera House alongside the London Youth Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra while still in secondary school. Although she looks back on those experiences fondly, Leyla always felt a strong desire to create original music and forge her own artistic identity.

Transitioning from classical performance into pop music required her to completely retrain her voice, moving away from operatic technique toward a contemporary vocal style. Through determination and experimentation, she developed the distinctive sound that defines her music today.

In 2023, Leyla was discovered through Instagram by the industry and where Actuation had her recording and releasing covers, beginning her journey in the dance music scene. Since then, Leyla has achieved a No. 16 chart position on Beatport, accumulated over 4 million streams on Spotify alone for her biggest single to date, and amassed over 18,300 Shazams. She has secured multiple editorial playlist placements across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, and earned sync placements in film, video games including Rocket League, and in-store campaigns for brands such as Hotel Chocolat. In 2026, she began touring live across Europe.

Having found her artistic home in dance-pop, Leyla continues to blend emotional storytelling with the cultural influences and life experiences that shaped her. Her music is driven by feeling, identity, and connection, with songs that aim not only to move people physically, but emotionally too.
